As a great poet once said, "tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day," but that poet might have been going through something because he didn't get to work with Annapurna Interactive and Joel McDonald on Hindsight. We can all understand how much of a bummer that must have been, and must exercise forgiveness.
A more contemporary literary wunderkind told us that, "the years start coming and they don't stop coming," and the protagonist of Hindsight is learning this in the starkest way possible. After her mother's passing, successful chef Mary returns home to deal with the life she left behind. As she packs up each room, she reminisces on her memories of growing up in the now vacant house, and how those events led her to become the person that she is.
Hindsight is a moving narrative exploration game where you move around Mary’s environment to access hidden memories in apertures formed by the objects she’s considering. It’s a heartfelt and emotional experience that will hopefully leave you wanting to call your parents more often.
Hindsight is available now on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.
